Hi everyone,
Micah, the girls and I will be going down to Mexico the last weekend of this month. We are planning on distributing food, coats, blankets, socks, etc. It's extremely cold there for the next few months and many families are in shacks with dirt floors and no source of heat besides an open fire. With the cold weather we've been having we can't imagine not being able to keep our little ones warm. God has blessed us with a comfortable warm home and plenty of warm clothing and coats. So many families in Mexico are going without these basic necessities. I can't imagine living in the conditions that are normal to so many people there. One young girl named Rosie that attended a purity seminar I hosted years ago in that area is now married and has a few little children. Last month her baby fell into their coal fire. The fire is the only source of heat they have for their little shack. Half of this poor little baby's face is completely covered in burns that will scar for the rest of her life. Stories like this are common for that area and they break my heart.
If you would like to join with us in giving to the families in Nava, Mexico, below is a list of ways that you can help. We know that many of you are already involved in other outreaches. Please do not feel pressured by this e-mail in any way. We thought some of you would enjoy knowing about what we are putting together and wanted to give you the opportunity to be involved if you feel God leading you.
Prayer - Pray that we would be a witness to show the love of Christ to all we come in contact with.
Winter Clothing - We would like to take new or very gently used coats, sweaters, mittens, socks (no used socks please) and any kind of blankets to distribute.
Propane Heaters - This type of heater works best in Mexico and seems to be the most cost effective; the cost for a propane heater and small tank is $250
Food Packages - If you would like you can contribute toward any part of the $1200 cost for putting together food packages to feed 65 families for several weeks.
(Any checks can be mailed to us, but would need to be made out to, Only a Servant Ministries, Inc.)
You can mail any of these items to our house by January 18th. If you are local and would rather meet or drop something off at our house give me a call and I'll try to arrange a time to meet you.

Hope you are all having a blessed new year!!
